Fisrt of all, you are the defenition of a coach. The commend we had on our game made the player how we are. It’s been an honor to train and play under your watch. I hope this is not a good bye, but a see you soon. Excuse me for my writing because I had a few beers
I see you on your insta. Your talent is special. The way you act and sing, is extrodinairy. You WILL make it to the big screen. Make sure I got some tickets.
You’re the most talented player I’ve ever seen. No more words needed.
Je was altijd even vriendelijk wanneer ik je zag. Je zal zeker gemist worden naast de dug-out. Nu besef ik dat ik voor Jacob en Kelsey ook Nederlands kon schrijven…
We will miss you, see you in the future14 augustus 2021 at 08:26 #2686svenwParticipant
Let me start off by saying how grateful I am for what you’ve meant for the team, myself and my family. For many years we’ve been talking about an American who would live in Ostend and would be able to take the team to the next level.
The wait was long but finally after 20 years it was a fact. The timing couldn’t have been any better.
We were just in the progress of building a youth development program.
We already had a rookies, majors and a miniemen team started up. Next step was to build a cadets team.
I was a little hesitant at first to take on the headcoaching job for the cadets, but when Dirk managed to persuade you to be the head coach I was directly on board.
Can you remember the bunch of kids we started off with?
After the first practices we said to each other, no chance in the world we ever win a single game.
But we set a high expectations and managed to make some steady progressions.
So good that after 2 years we decided to go all in and that’s when we decided to participate in the national competition. Although our first season in competition was shortened due to covid we could compete with every team on the roster. A feat we never could have dreamed off when we started out 2 years earlier.
Coaching the cadets by your side was a blast, I’ve couldn’t have wished for a better mentor.
Your departure weighs heavy on me, I’m not only losing a coach but a good friend as well.
Luckily I managed to find myself a great replacement in Ruben.
Ruben will be the first one to admit that you have been a big part in his love for the game and the level of play that he is currently at. I know he has a soft spot for you and Jake. He is currently following up on all Jake”s games that he’s currently playing for the baseball schoolteam.
Although you’re no longer with us, I know you not only made a great impact on Ruben but on a lot of kids for the rest of their lives. The memory of you will live on in the Piranhas organisation for many years to come.
This is not a goodbye because Ruben and I are definitely coming over to visit you in the near future.
Take care my friend
